Next generation of barcode scanners

Do barcode scanners have reached their maximum capabilities? We really think they don’t. We all have witnessed the progress of new technologies in the last decades. The internet expansion is probably the most popular of those. But there are other technologies that have also changed our lives forever. And many more are going to affect our lifestyles in the near future.

Creativity is a powerful tool when used correctly and pushed to its limits it can produce amazing results. The internet evolved in a wireless internet with bandwidth and transfer speeds increasing notably and continuing to increase every single year. With barcode scanners the scenery is quite similar. These powerful tools every year experiment changes and new features to increase productivity of companies that use them. They have more internal memory, batteries last longer, wireless transfer is more potent and can reach farther distances and they are faster and more durable. In fact, the list is endless. However, despite all these new and cool features, a new generation of barcode scanners is yet to appear in the market very soon.

This new type of barcode scanners will be capable of reading codes at amazing distances but without a direct lecture, they will simply detect what the code says. It won’t matter if there’s something between the scanner and the label to be read, information will travel through the air using a very advanced technology known as radio frequency identification. With this powerful technology, barcode scanners will expand their markets even more and companies will increase their productivity to amazing levels. Taking the inventory of a large warehouse will be done in a matter of seconds and paying for groceries at the supermarket will be a trivial task. We should be ready for these new changes and think about the new possibilities that will open in front of us.
