PRINTED LABELS : SPECIALIST COMPANIES
There are a number of online companies that specialize in printed labels. The selection and variety that is available to the consumer is virtually unlimited. Printed labels can be made to meet any individual or group requirements, with numerous choices in text, size, color, and backing. Popular styles of adhesive backing for printed labels are hi tac, removable, and deep freeze.
Laser printed labels in over twenty sizes can be ordered in different materials such as synthetics and paper. A wide selection of colors is offered including cream, red, blue, green, yellow, pink, and orange, as well as fluorescent and metallic colors. Other types of printed labels are produced on synthetic materials such as vinyl, polyester, and polypropylene. These printed labels have a stronger plastic surface that is extremely durable and often used on squeeze type bottles and containers. In addition, the plastic printed labels are available on sheets and rolls, with a laminated film, and can be produced in small or large quantities in sheets, rolls, or single cut in the same manner as labels printed on paper.
A unique type of printed label, the domed label, is produced on vinyl with full color and coated with a sheet of resin to resemble the dome shape. Clear, circular labels are also popular and many come in perforated sheets, with removable or permanent adhesive backing, for easy application and quick processing procedures.
Printed labels can also be made on thermal printers, using machine coated gloss or semi-gloss synthetic materials such as polyester or polypropylene. Thermal printed labels are usually available in up to six colors and with the same choice of adhesive type backings as used in other types of printed labels. Thermal or laser printed labels are an option for individuals or for industrial size quantities.
The majority of printed labels are produced flexographically; however, digital printing is becoming more and more popular, especially for smaller requirements, where color and variety is more essential than mass production.
