PRODUCTION EXPANSION

A Manufacturer of self-adhesive materials has increased its production capacity by over a third, following a major expansion programme which has included the extension of the company’s premises, the introduction of a new high-tech coating line and the manufacture of a new range of paper sheet products.

The eight expansion in 12 years includes the provision of a further 15,000 sq ft of warehouse and office space, the installation of a new automatic packing line and the introduction of the latest inspection and rewind equipment, where rolls of material are inspected and ‘edited’ to remove flaws and imperfections.

The expansion also represents a major investment in technology, most notably the new high-speed coater. Using an entirely different coating technology, the new coating line offers significant benefits in applications where a high tack adhesive with good cohesion is required and provides much improved control of the moisture content in paper materials.

Tony Hitchins, sales and marketing director for Ritrama (UK) commented, ‘Ritrama is a company of continuous development and innovation. Improvements, such as the new coating technology, increase capacity, offer new product opportunities and will keep Ritrama at the forefront of the industry.’

Ritrama (UK) is a member of a worldwide group of companies manufacturing self-adhesive materials for a wide variety of applications, including roll label conversions, point-of-sale and display, the graphic paper sheet market and vinyls for sign making.
