Cold foil embellishment can really add some strong shelf appeal which is vital in overcrowded markets and \u00a0can help create a better product differentiation. Cold foil stamping is more cost effective than its counterpart Hot Foil stamping although contrary to its name Cold foil stamping does not require stamping tools, instead the process uses Printing Plates which can introduce gradients and halftones in the design. The specially formed UV Ink is printed onto a standard photopolymer printing plate which comes into contact with the substrate. The special Foil is then laminated onto special Cold Foil adhesive before being passed through a UV dryer, afterwards any excess foil is then removed. Some substrates are not suitable for Cold Foil Stamping, the best results are usually found on glossy paper substrates with a smooth finish.
